The first player to score 50 goals in a single season, the Rocket was the first NHL player to score 500 career goals. He was also one of the game's greatest playoff performers, scoring six overtime playoff goals in his career. He was the first NHL player to register two hat-tricks in the Stanley Cup finals and played on eight Stanley Cup winning teams. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1961.
