IMPORTANT BIDDING RULES AND CONDITIONS (Last updated Oct. 13, 2023)

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE BIDDING

AJ Sports auction is conducted in Canadian currency.
10% buyer’s premium will be added to winning bids.
Sales tax and shipping costs will be added to final invoice

REGISTRATION:

A separate auction site user account is needed to to sign in and bid.

Accounts registed on ajsports.ca will not work for our auction site.

Once you have registered for an auction account, the same login can be used for each auction. To register for our auctions please go to: Create Account – AJ Sports.

BIDDING PERIOD & THE 5-MINUTE RULE:

Bidding starts for registered users as soon as the auction is live.
The final day of bidding is listed on the live auctions page as well as each lot page.
Auctions will end at 10:00 PM EST on the day of closing.
After the aucion ends, extended bidding will continue for any lot you have bid on before 10:00 PM EST on the closing date.
If eligible to bid during the extended bidding period, a 5-minute rule will be in place.
If you are the only bidder on a lot, you will be declared the winner when the auction ends.
If you have bid on a lot before the auction ends, you can continue to bid for 5 minutes during extended bidding period.
Any bids made during the extended bidding period will extend the lot for another 5 minutes.
Each lot will end when no new bids are entered for a full 5 minutes after the extended bidding period starts.
The actual time each lot will close shall be determined by the application of the 5-minute rule.
The auction will fully close when the extended bidding period ends after no lots receive bids for 5 minutes.

ABSENTEE BIDS:

We encourage early and absentee bidding if do not want to stay up on the final day of the auction. The auction site will place bids,on your behalf, up to the maximum amount only if the absentee bid is raised by another bidder. If we receive two absentee bids of the same amount, the first one placed will be the high bidder. For example, if you have a current high bid at $500 and have placed an absentee bid up to a maximum of $1,000 and another bid comes at $600, your absentee bid will automatically raise the high bid to $660. This will continue until your maximum bid has been reached. If there are no other bids, you will win the lot for $660, plus buyer’s premium. All absentee bids will remain confidential.

WINNING BIDS AND SHIPPING:

A 10% buyer’s premium (minimum $2/item or $5/invoice) will be added to each auction lot on your invoice. Winning bidders are responsible for shipping and handling costs which will be added and include shipping, packing and materials. Items shipped to Canadian residents are subject to HST or GST. International bidders are also responsible for any customs, duties, or brokerage fees. A flat shipping fee will be added to your invoice and sent to you. Please note that some shipments to the USA may require the use of a Customs Broker based on requirements by Customs and Border Protection. You will be emailed the tracking number once your package has been shipped. Packages will be shipped 1-2 weeks after payment has been received. To save on shipping fees, your auction order can be picked up at our Toronto location. If you wish to pick up please email us immediately following the auction to let us know. We will revise your invoice and resend it to you. We are located at: 1200 Castlefield Ave, Suite 200, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. You will be notified 1-2 weeks after payment is received when your order is ready for in-store pickup. Please await confirmation from us that your order is ready before coming to pick up.

RETURNS:

Items may be returned within two weeks only if the item does not match the description. Otherwise all sales are final. AJ Sports shall not be liable for breakage of glass or damage to frames during shipping. Such defects shall not be a basis for any claim for return or reduction in purchase price. Please note that your invoice, payment status and shipping information will be available online by logging into your account.

PAYMENT:

Invoices will be sent by email to the winning bidders. Those who have not received their invoice within 5 days of the auction should contact us. Payment is due within 7 days after notification. Failure to pay invoices promptly will result in the suspension of your auction privileges. Title shall not pass to the successful bidder until all invoices are paid in full.

Methods of payment accepted are: Visa, Mastercard paid via Paypal (you do not need a Paypal account to make a payment through Paypal) and email transfer (etransfer).

Here are the steps to pay your invoice: Once you login to your AJ Sports Auction Account (must be your auction account, not our website account), you will see a drop-down that says select auction and then select this Auction and then view invoice. From there it will guide you to make the Paypal payment. Our credit card payments are now processed using Paypal; you DO NOT need an account with Paypal to make the payment. Thank you.

ACCEPTANCE OF CONDITIONS:

Placement of a bid in this auction constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions. AJ Sports reserves the right to accept or refuse any or all bids. By placing a bid in this auction, the bidder confirms the acceptance of all the rules and conditions of sale as mentioned here. AJ Sports record of final sale shall be conclusive.

NON-PAYMENT BY BUYER:
Auction payments are due within 7 days of the auction ending. Late or non-payment of your auction invoice may result in the revocation of bidding privileges for future auctions and the suspension of all of your accounts with AJ Sports. Please note: when you bid on an item(s), you are entering into a legally binding contract, indicating that you will pay for your items, plus the buyer’s premium and any additional associated fees (shipping).
