“The Great One” #99 Wayne Gretzky has hand signed an original menu from his now closed “GRETZKY’S” Restaurant in Toronto. This is an extremely rare collectible and also comes with 2 original matchbooks from the restaurant.
The cover of the menu measures 13 x 17 inches when unopened and opens up to 30 x 17 inches when unfolded open. Wayne signed it boldly in black Sharpie on the #9 of the jersey pictured on the menu cover. As you can it opens up to feature all the various menu items.
First opened in August of 1993, the landmark in Toronto’s Entertainment District served up sports bar staples for 27 years before closing in October 2020.
A Certificate of Authenticity adorns this gem issued by B.B.; Authenticated that guarantees the authenticity of the signature, the menu was signed in-person in Toronto during September 2021. AJ Sports guarantees the authenticity of this signature. This is the exact item you will be receiving and not a stock photo.
He played 20 seasons in the NHL for four teams from 1979 to 1999. Nicknamed "The Great One", he has been called "the greatest hockey player ever" by many. Gretzky is the leading scorer in NHL history, with more goals and assists than any other player. He is the only NHL player to total over 200 points in one season – a feat he accomplished four times. In addition, Gretzky tallied over 100 points in 16 professional seasons, 14 of them consecutive. At the time of his retirement in 1999 and persisting through 2017, he holds 61 NHL records: 40 regular season records, 15 playoff records, and six All-Star records. Born and raised in Brantford, Ontario, Canada, Gretzky honed his skills at a backyard rink and regularly played minor hockey at a level far above his peers. Despite his unimpressive stature, strength and speed, Gretzky's intelligence and reading of the game were unrivaled.
